About
Hello again! I’m Maxton Zalaquett (zah-lah-ket) and I am a creative person. I have been focused on creating things ever since I could remember, or at least I think I have been. I jumped on the creative career bandwagon when I was a but a fresh(man) in college at Western Carolina University. When my expert sketches weren’t getting me the grades I wanted in business classes, I made the switch to art school where my doodles would be kindly pinned on a felt board and then reflected upon by me and my fellow students. So, like an angry bird crashes into a neatly designed pig house, I crashed into the Graphic Design Department, knowing that I had just gotten the high score.
I fell in love with the room filled with computers and proceeded to wrestle with these electronic beasts in my fight to overcome a rainbow of Adobe programs that I had never heard of. Needless to say, I overcame the programs and then made them my friends. I was especially drawn to Adobe Illustrator and it quickly became my favorite toy in the chest. Through much more course work, I became comfortable with others in the bunch: Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects and InDesign.
After receiving my diploma in 2011, I set off to find somewhere that would hire me to be creative [with my only experience being a Cafeteria Worker at a retirement home, Papa John's Delivery Driver and a Landscaper].
